We are currently NOT accepting clothing donations. Thank you for your generous donations, however we are full!
When you donate clothing, accessories and other accepted items to The Hospice Thrift Store in Halifax, you support Hospice Halifax, which is dedicated to providing the best end of life possible for patients and their families.
We accept clean, gently used or new men’s, women’s or children’s clothing, accessories including purses, wallets, scarves and shoes/boots as well as jewelry and household items!

Thank you for your generous donations. We have ended accepting clothing donations as of February 1st until further notice. We have a large inventory to sort through. We will continue to accept Household items, Purses, Jewellery and Shoes.
Only Around Back (Not in the Shop)
We have a designated drop off area around the back of the store (find us here). Our parking lot loops all the way around and you will see our storage container and drop off area! Pull up beside the container and the yellow guardrail and ring the doorbell to speak to one of our volunteers or staff to successfully drop off your donations.
Clothing Must Be in Bags that Can Close - NO BOXES PLEASE
All clothing items must be in bags that can be fully closed. Recycling and garbage bags are great! We do not accept clothes on hangers.
Do Not Leave at Door
Please do not drop and leave your donations outside of business hours or when we are not accepting donations. We are unable to keep them and they will have to be disposed of at the cost to our charity (which adds up very quickly!).
Give to a Staff or Volunteer
We will help you with your donation. If you have donated previously and have an account with us, you only need to mention your First and Last name! That is how we identify you in our system. If you have never donated with us before and wish to create an account be sure to let the person you speak with know and they will gather all the needed information.
No Hangers
We do not need or use plastic or metal hangers. They become a waste for us. Please ensure all clothing donations are in bags only.

- Gently worn or new women's, children's and men's clothing
- Gently worn or new accessories including scarves, belts and purses
- Jewelry that is intact and in good condition
- Gently worn or new shoes and boots
- Small household items
